New Town just landed a big one.
Fusion CX, a Kolkata-born multinational in the customer experience and business process space, has announced it will invest 100 crore rupees over the next three years to build a full-scale IT and ITeS campus right here in New Town.
The address: Bengal Silicon Valley.
The company has already secured 1.06 acres of land here.
What goes up on that plot will be an 11-storey building with roughly 2 lakh square feet of built-up space — not a satellite office, but a proper delivery campus.
And at full capacity, it’s expected to employ over 9,000 people.
The company isn’t new here — it’s doubling down.
Fusion CX started in West Bengal in 2004 and never left, even through the state’s most difficult business years.
Today, it runs delivery centres in Kolkata, Howrah, Durgapur, Kalyani and Siliguri, employing over 4,700 people across the state.
West Bengal is already its largest offshore delivery cluster globally — and this campus is how it grows that position at scale.
So why New Town, and why now?
Co-founder and CEO Pankaj Dhanuka put it plainly in an inteview to the PTI: the state offers a capable talent pool, competitive real estate, and improving infrastructure.
For a company doing 35% annual growth and eyeing an IPO (SEBI approval is already in hand for a 1,000 crore offering), building in the Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub makes both operational and strategic sense.
The momentum is already visible.
The company launched a Centre of Excellence for E-Commerce in Siliguri in August 2025 and onboarded four major e-commerce clients within three months.
The New Town campus is the next, much larger, step in that same arc.
For a neighbourhood that’s steadily becoming Kolkata’s tech address of choice, this is exactly the kind of investment that confirms what residents here have sensed for a while — the city’s centre of gravity for IT is shifting, and it’s settling right here.
